New Year's Girraween Trip

For the New Year's , we gathered our little group and went to Girraween National Park. There is just something magical about those massive boulders there and we try to stay there as much as possible throughout the year as well.

On the first day we went for a coolest little wander around the campsite and once we returned and got the fire going it started to hammer down which is normally expected there. Thankfully we had a massive gazebo and we proceeded to play UNO and eat cheese unbothered.

We didn't send the year off with a bang since none of us are real party people... hence we were in bed by 10 pm on New Year's eve and the campground was surprisingly quiet, too.

We might have engaged in a bit of mischief too. We spotted some trees covered in cicada shells and began sticking them onto our shirts. And then faces. And then hats. Maddie and Alen looked like something was bugging them.
Main "attraction" about Girraween for me isn't even the well known hikes, it's the random boulders in every direction. And little hidden nooks guiding you to seemingly different worlds. Some places radiate positive energy, that's definitely the case there.

I have a suggestion as well for anyone planning a trip to the park. Nearby, there's a vineyard called Balancing Heart that makes excellent pizzas and they're located on a stunning property surrounded by boulders. And there's plenty of farm animals ready for a big pat.
Or if you're in the mood for something sweet, you can always visit Sutton’s juice factory, cider, and shed cafe in Stanthorpe. Those sweet pies and pastries are addictive as (banoffee pie I'm still thinking of you).
But then again, there truly isn't anything better than cooking at a camp. Would it just be steak, kransky's or cheese crackers, everything just tastes hundred times better in the fresh air next to a campfire.

Can't wait to go back & focus more on taking photos of birds, lizards and wallabys there.

What a beautiful spot and what an awesome trip❤️
